My First DVD

Yesterday afternoon Mommy and I went to visit one of her former students, Allison, and Allison's brother Kyle and her Mommy, Ms. Theresa. Allison and Kyle did a great job entertaining me. They showed me all of their big kid toys. They were so sweet to give me some Baby Einstein DVDs to watch. They said that they really liked them when they were babies, but don't watch them anymore now that they are big kids. Today I tried out Baby Mozart. I loved it! There were all of these neat shapes and toys on the screen and Mozart playing in the background. Very cool!!

Practicing

I've been working on sitting up by myself and I'm just about there. I can sit really nice and straight for a little bit, but then I get really tired and gradually start leaning forward until I'm folded up like Gumby. That is not very comfortable!! Hopefully I'll have exciting news on the sitting up front in the next few weeks!

A New Friend

Last week I finally got to meet Hannah Harman! I've looked at her blog with Mommy a lot, so I was super excited when I founf out that Mommy, Aunt Sarah, and I were going to meet Hannah and her Mommy, Jessica for lunch. We met at Atlantic Station and ate at Moe's. Hannah is about 4 months older than me, so she showed me some neat tricks that I can't quite do yet. She can sit up all by herself. She also ate a cracker and drank from a real cup. Wow! It was great meeting Hannah and Jessica. I can't wait to see you again, my friend!!

Leo and I

Last Friday night Aunt Katie babysat me so that Mommy and Daddy could have a little date. We had a great time and her dog Leo really loved me! He's kind of like Mack, only a lot bigger! Leo is a good boy and he was very gentle with me, but he just couldn't resist snuggling up next to me. When Aunt Katie first put me on the floor he kept his distance, but it was just too much for him. He tried to be sneaky about it, but he wasn't fooling us! I love a little cuddle though, so I didn't mind one bit!

What's a girl to do?

Today I discovered a flaw in the Bumbo seat. Let me set the scene for you. I am just sitting there happily looking around, holding onto my teething ring. All of the sudden, I drop it, just for fun. No problem, I think to myself. I'm pretty coordinated now. I'll just bend, reach, and grab. So, I do bend and reach, as far as my little arms will go, but, to my dismay, the Bumbo impeded my reaching ability and the grab was just not possible. I guess next time I will hold on much tighter. I don't make the same mistake twice!

A New View

This morning while Mommy was washing dishes she put me in my Bumbo seat on the counter to keep her company. I really like the view from up here. There are all kinds of interesting things. Especially the blinking red light on the answering machine. I stared at that for along time!

Some Company

I was feeling a little lonely in my excersaucer this morning, so my Cabbage Patch Kid (a gift from Papa when I was born) joined me! It was so nice to have some company in there. Mommy spoiled the fun and took her away though when I decided that her head looked like a good snack for me. Next time I'll have to make sure that Mom is looking the other way before I have a little taste!

My First Picture with Davis (and Shannon too!)

This picture was taken a while ago, but since I mentioned Matt, Shannon, and Davis in the previous post I thought that it was appropriate to add this one too! Do you see Davis? I'm kind of sitting on him! Mommy says that this will be the only time that I am allowed to do that. Especially since I will be quite a bit bigger than him for a little while. We're so excited that he will be here soon and know that Matt and Shannon will be great parents. I always have lots of fun with them!

My First 4th

Here are a few pictures from my first Fourth of July. We went to a party at Sarah and Phil's house on the 3rd. I got to see lots of my favorite people! On the 4th we just stayed home and grilled out with Aunt Katie. Mommy and Daddy decided that I was too young for fireworks this year. Maybe next year!

I've been practicing sitting up a lot. I just need a little bit of support now!
Matt is getting some good practice here. He and Shannon are going to have a little pal for me at the end of August. They're going to have a baby boy named Davis!

Getting my Beauty Sleep

The other morning Mommy came in to wake me up and discovered that I have a new favorite sleeping position. I've gotten really good at moving around in my crib and sometimes I get myself into a place where I just can't stretch out all the way. This is working pretty well for me though!
