Nate is Here!

We were all set to be induced on April 1, but Nate had his own idea! After dinner last Tuesday I started to have irregular contractions. By 10:00 PM they were reglar and painful, so we headed to Northside. By the time we got there they were 3-4 minutes apart and I was at 5 CM. It felt like it took forever to get my epidural, and right after I did I was at 10 CM. I rested for an hour and a half or so before pushing, and Nathan Robert Brookshire was born at 3:14 AM on March 31, 2010!

Our first look at our new sweetie.

Cutie pie, looks a little like Anna in this picture.

First picture with Mommy and Daddy.

So peaceful!

The next morning Anna came to visit!

One of my favorite pictures :)

Waiting to go home.

Still waiting...

Finally headed home!

Nate's Room

Nate's room is finished (except for lots of empty picture frames, I'm sure it won't take us long to fill those up though :) This is the view from the door of the changing table and crib.

The monogram over the crib is a decal from www.homesweetwalls.com.

Bookshelf that we got from Ikea and spray painted red. And, a nice view of the toilet across the hall, just noticed that!

I have a feeling that we'll be spending a lot of time in this little corner of the room!

Doing My Part

Mommy and Daddy aren't the only ones who've been working hard to get Nate's room ready for him. I created a piece of art to hang in his room. You can tell by my tongue sticking out that I worked very hard on it. First I painted the canvas white.

Then, the fun part, I got to paint all different colors!

The finished product. I hope Nate likes it!

Baby Monroe

I mentioned in the last post that last month our friends Natalie, Buck, and Baby Monroe came to visit from Charleston. Monroe was a fun little guy to have around! I especially liked his jumpy thing that hung in the doorway. You should have seen that little guy jump! He looked like he was having so much fun that I had to get in on the action!

Catching Up

Well we've done it again and taken a long break from blogland. We just seem to do that every once in a while! The biggest event of the last month is that I turned 3!!! I didn't have a big party this year, but had a special, fun-filled birthday weekend. Unfortunately somehow (and Mommy and Daddy have conflicting ideas on how this happened :) most of the pictures got erased from the camera, so you'll just have to take my word that it was really fun! For my big birthday treat Mommy and Daddy took me to the aquarium, which I loved. 3 is a great age for the aquarium! I also had cupcakes with my neighborhood friends, ate lunch at the American Girl store with Mommy, Gran Ran, and Aunt Katie, and had a playdate with some of my best buddies. Enough about that though, here are a few pictures of my month!

Lauren, Ian, Japhet and I are having a very important meeting. They look to me for leadership. What can I say, that's what happens when you're 3!

My neighbors, Mis Dawn and Mr. Dewayne gave me this Leap Frog Text and Learn. If you know a 3 year old in need of a gift this would be a great one. I love it and it is very educational. Here I am showing Davis how it works.

Having fun with Daddy, as always!

I love him!

I created a little comthing special for Nate's room. You'll see more of that later!

Mommy and Nate are growing every day. Unless Nate has different plans of his own Mommy will be induced on April 1. 1 month from today!!!

My buddy Ian had a birthday too. He's 1 now!

Mack and I enjoyed the nice weather a few weekends ago. Can't wait until it's here to stay for a while.

What's this?? Anna smiling for the camera, amazing!

Natalie, Buck, and Monroe came to visit us from Charleston. We had so much fun!

Baby Bumblebee

I learned the song I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee at school and I've been singing it a lot. Today on the way home from school I was singing it and Mommy mentioned that we should get a video of me singing it. After we'd gotten home and eaten lunch she'd forgotten all about it, but I reminded her. When I watched the video I got a little upset because I forgot to say, "it's yucky," at the end of the second verse and said, "it stung me," again. Mommy said we could try again, but I'd had enough by that point. So, here it is!

Fun in the Snow

When I woke up last Friday morning all I could talk about was going outside and making snow angels. Lucky for me, Daddy worked from home that day, so he took a break and played with me for a few minutes. Mommy was not going out there!

Mommy took some pictures of us playing through the window. We made a few snow balls.

Mommy and Daddy couldn't stop laughing at my outfit. We're not quite equipped for this kind of weather so I had lots of layers on.

Making that snow angel I was so excited about.

Then, Daddy said that it would be fun if we just ran around the backyard some. I know this was just his plot to stay warm, but it was pretty fun!

Cookie Time!

For Christmas Grandaddy gave me this cute spoon and spatula that look like people so that I can start doing some cooking with Mommy. We spent a lot of time in the house this past weekend and decided that it would be a great time to try them out and make some cookies!
The spoon worked great, but once I got the spatula involved I really made some progress!

Now the fun part, the frosting!

I think that's enough for the cookies, I'll just take care of the rest. Yum!

Anna the Artist

Along with my easel, Santa brought me some art supplies. Today I tried out the paints.

Hard at work!

Mommy turned her back for a minute to check her email and when she tuned back around this is what I looked like.

"What are you looking at?"

Thankfully, the paints are as washable as they claim to be!

Christmas Day

Santa came to visit me!

"Hey, what's going on down there?"

Who has time for a family picture? I was ready to get downstairs!

I love my easel!

I've also had lots of fun playing with my food cutting set.

Aunt Katie and Gran Ran had fun with it too!

Let's see what's in this stocking! I got the toy duck from Bath and Body works that I've been talking about for over a month!

I declared my new Thomas set from Uncle Rob my "flavorite"! Don't you know that a girl can never have too many trains?

I also had a lot of fun playing with the remote control helicopter that Uncle Rob got from my Great Aunt Anne. I would yell, "3, 2, 1, blast off!" and it would magically start flying!
